How can I adjust the right analog stick of the RG351P to play vertical arcade games?

Launch any vertical game, then press L3 + R3 to bring up the RetroArch Quick Menu.

Scroll to Controls > Port 1 Controls > Analog to Digital Type > Right Analog or Right Analog (Forced). Then press two times B, go to Overrides, then "Save Content Directory Overrides".

This will map the right analog stick to the d-pad controls.

To adjust the directions to match the vertical orientation of your screen, which is done, but just for the case we missed few games:

Still within the Controls > Port 1 Controls section, scroll down to the d-pad controls.

Change them to this configuration:

D-Pad Up: Right

D-Pad Down: Left

D-Pad Left: Up

D-Pad Right: Down

Once you have your controls set up the way you want, back out to the Controls menu, then select “Save Game Remap File”.

How can I use the left analog stick of RG351V in Amiga games?

Start the game, then press "select" and "X" button in the same time.

Now go to Controls, press A --> Port 1 Controls, press A --> Analog to Digital Type,

press A and select "Left Analog (Forced)" by pressing A again.

Then press two times B, go to Overrides, then "Save Content Directory Overrides".

To go back to the game, press B and go up in the menu to "Resume"

Some N64 games are not starting, how can I fix that issue?

The problems with N64 games especially on older systems like RG351 and R36S are not starting with a unified emulator. One emulator fits for 60% of the games, but the other 40% needs another emulator to run the game. Howto:

Choose a game (e.g. Diddy Kong Racing) and press the Select Button --> go down to

"Edit This Games Metadata", press A --->go to "Emulator" press on the D-Pad left or right to choose "STANDALONE-RICE",

Then go down to "SAVE" and press A. Go out of the menu with B and start the game.

Some games are running better like Yoshi and Diddy Kong Racing with "STANDALONE-RICE" Emulator. But feel free to test another one, if you like.

PS1 games are stuttering from time to time, how can I improve the performance?

With the next update of Retro Arcade it will be fixed, but for now it is recommended to adjust the clock speed. Howto:

Start a PS1 game, then press "select" and "X" button in the same time.

Go to Core Options --> System --> set the PSX CPU Clock Speed = 85 (or even higher to 100). Then press two times B, go to Overrides, then "Save Content Directory Overrides".

Home console games like SNES, SEGA Genesis, ... seems to be bit blurry or I want to use shaders, how can I change the settings?

Start a home console game (e.g. SNES), then press "select" and "X" button in the same time. Press B to go to main menu, then --> Settings --> Video --> deactivate RGA Scaling.

Press two times B, got to Quick Menu --> Overrides -->Save Content Directory Overrides.

How can I update pico-8 emulator?

The update file will be provided on archive.org or here.

Just extract the content of the pico8-update.zip to the pico8 folder in your EASYROMS partition.

How can I use Retro Achievements?

Retro Achievements are hidden in the retroarch and retroarch32 menu. Just enter retroarch from the main menu, choose first retroarch, then Settings, scroll down to Achievements. Toggle it on and enter your username and password. Press 2x B to go back, then go to Configuration File, select Save Current Configuration. Repeat the same with retroarch32.

How can I replace the menu music?

Go to the folder "bgmusic" in your EASYROMS partition of your SD card. Here you can replace the .mp3 files (bitrate / quality = 192 kBit/s).

easyroms

I can just see the game titles. How can I make the boxart (game covers and videos) visible?

In each system the game covers and videos are linked in the gamelist.xml file. Is the size of the gamelist file around 1KB important information's are missing. This can happen if you extract the content of your system or easyroms.7z to the EASYROMS partition, without confirming to overwrite existing files. Please copy the gamelist file from each system like (amiga, c64, nes...) from the easyroms.7z or the single system to the corresponding folder of your SD card (EASYROMS partition).

ports

How can I delete ports?

There are two ways to do it. The easy way is using Portmaster.

Go to Options --> Tools --> Portmaster --> Manage Ports --> select the port you want to delete --> press A --> then Y to uninstall --> confirm with A

(sometimes it is necessary to reboot EmulationStation)

or manually:

plug the SD card into your PC, go to EASYROMS partition and navigate to the folder called "ports" ---> here you can delete the .sh file and the corresponding folder.

example:

file: Duke Nukem 3D atomic.sh

folder: rednukem-dn3d-atomic

If you cannot find the corresponding folder, just open the.sh file with notepad / text editor and search for the line starting with GAMEDIR="$PORTDIR/****** or gamedir.

How can I enter a name in the game "Raptor"?

In the name and callsign section, make sure the crosshair is not on input fields,

press start + down to enable text entry. Press start once done to complete entry.

... more questions will be added soon. Thanks for your help!
