Re-Using Mashtec For Android

I love the image and I have an idea i can re-use it on Android devices more easily now Android have ES-DE and Emudeck.

I've installed ES-DE and I'll be installing Emudeck to set up the emulators.

I think ES-DE will have the same folder structure as the Easyroms structure since they are both emulastion station based? I suspect he art-work and video won't work out of the box though and i wondered if there was a way to make this work so i don't have to scrape all of the games?

Hey Slogan,

we‘re glad to hear that you enjoy the image :)

Actually this should work exactly as you wrote. Since both systems (ArkOS and Android) use EmulationStation as front-end you can youse the Easyroms package independently.

So that should work just out of the box. No need to scrape the collection again.

Wow. Thanks a lot for your impressions and tests! This is a good starting point for us. Since I‘m totally busy this week to test it, could you tell me the exact path for images and videos?

Retro Arcade boxart path is:

in the system folder

media/images

media/videos

This I could change to provide an android „easyroms.7z“ soon and then we should think about adding other systems (gamecube, lightweight PS2 titles), because of the better performance on android.

Perfect approach! Maybe some find&replace for the folders should quickly get us to a base from where on we can expand the set.

Since Android mainly runs on faster systems we could definitely add Gamecube and PS2 👍🏻
